· Kejriwal Government claiming false credit for saving crores of rupees in the construction of flyovers. In fact, they have over spent — Ajay Maken.
· Congress to protest to expose the lies of Kejriwal when he inaugurates the flyover from Vikaspuri to Meerabagh on Sunday.
· AAP Government taking credit for setting up the World Class Skill Centre which was started by the Congress Government—Ajay Maken.
NEW DELHI, July 21–Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Ajay Maken came down heavily on the web of lies created by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to mislead the people of Delhi. On Thursday, saddled with documentary evidences, Shri Maken exposed another big lie and false information spread by the Kejriwal government among the unsuspecting Delhi citizens, about the huge amount of money saved by his government on the construction of several flyovers.
Flashing RTI reports and other incriminating documents against the Kejriwal government, Shri Ajay Maken, addressing a press conference at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan here today, showed how the flyover from Vikaspuri to Meerabagh was tendered for Rs 407 crores in February, 2013 but the AAP government has spent Rs 450 crore on it and still balance works like horticulture, rain harvesting, rain water pipe etc is pending.
“This government has made a loss of Rs 43 crore. But Arvind Kejriwal blatantly lies that he has saved crores of rupees in the construction of this flyover. The truth is the Congress government had sanctioned Rs 560 crore in June 2012 for this flyover. In Decemeber, 2012, Rs 464 crore was taken as the estimated cost. In February, 2013, after competitive tendering Rs 407 crore was fixed as the cost of the project and sanctioned by the government. But shamelessly, the Kejriwal government spread the word that they have saved Rs 110 crore; calculation falsely based on the sanctioned amount of Rs 560 crore in June 2012, rather than the competitively tendered amount of Rs 407 crore,” said Shri Ajay Maken.
Same is true for the Mangolpuri to Madhuban Chowk flyover, where the competitively tendered cost awarded in March 2013 was Rs 289 crore and the Kejriwal government spent Rs 300 crore, making a loss of Rs 11 crore.
Another flyover, from Madhuban Chowk to Mukarba Chowk, where the competitively tendered cost awarded in March 2013 was Rs 279 crore, the Kejriwal government spent Rs 300 crore, thus making a loss of Rs 21 crore.
Similarly, the flyover from Prembari Pul to Azadpur, where the competitively tendered cost awarded in 13 March, 2013 was Rs 181.47 was completed on 25 January, 2016 for Rs 136 crore. This project was also started during the Congress regime.
Shri Ajay Maken said the Congress party will hold a demonstration on Sunday, 24th July, when Kejriwal inaugurates the flyover from Vikaspuri to Meera Bagh to expose the lies of the Kejriwal Government before the people. He said ex-MP Shri Mahabal Mishra, ex-MLA Shri Devinder Yadav and former Delhi PWD Minister Shri Rajkumar Chouhan will spearhead the Congress protest near the venue where Kejriwal will be opening the flyover.
Shri Ajay Maken also slammed the Kejriwal Government for taking credit for setting up the World Class Skill Centre at Vivek Vihar, claiming that four batches of students have got employment from the Centre, though the Kejriwal Government has been in power for only one and a half years. He said according to an RTI reply accessed by Shri Ved Pal on 3 July, 2014, the Skill Centre was functioning then, so how could the Kejriwal Government take credit for setting up the Skill Centre. He said the Kejriwal Government was spreading blatant lies to mislead the people, and take false credit for something which was started when Congress was in power in Delhi. Similarly, the AAP Government was taking credit for setting up the Greenfield World Class Skill Development Centre at Jonapur, Delhi in collaboration with the Institute of Technical Education, Government of Singapore, though the truth is that the Delhi Cabinet had approved the project on 12th June, 2012 when Congress was in power in Delhi.
